Prices go by weight, because that is what actually decides how long a groom takes. Coat condition can move the final figure, and if it is going to, you are told at the door before anything starts.
Four ways to book
Each of these exists because a full groom is the wrong answer for some dogs.

Full groom
Bath, dry, brush out, haircut to the length you ask for, face and feet, nails and ears. Sixty to ninety minutes. The default booking, and what most dogs get.

Bath and tidy
Everything above except the haircut. Right for short coated dogs, and for long coated dogs in between their clip appointments.

Puppy first visit
Under six months. Short and deliberately easy: bath, dry, nails, a light tidy, and mostly an introduction to the noises. Half the point is that nothing bad happens.

Gentle groom
For senior or anxious dogs. The same work taken in stages with breaks, on a mat rather than asked to hold a position, with extra time built into the booking.

Travel is included inside fifteen miles of Portsmouth. Past that it is $2 a mile each way, and I will tell you the figure when you book rather than adding it at the end. Two dogs at the same address share one travel charge.
Two things I will not do
I do not sedate dogs, and I will not work with a dog who is genuinely frightened of being handled. If your dog needs sedation to be groomed safely, that is a conversation with your vet, and a veterinary practice is the right place for it to happen.
I will not brush out a severely matted coat to save the length. It hurts, it takes hours, and it produces a miserable dog and a mediocre result. A short clip and a plan to grow it back properly is the better answer, and I would rather lose the booking than talk you into the other thing.
