Services and rates
Two rates, one license, no line items you did not expect.
Everything below is quoted before the shoot and fixed. If the day runs long because we chose to wait for better light, that is our decision and our cost.
01 Architecture
Exteriors, facades and civic work.
A building rarely has one good hour. It has a good hour per elevation, and they are not the same hour. Where the brief needs the whole envelope covered properly, we split the work across two visits rather than photographing the north side in flat shade because that is when we happened to be on site.
- Elevation by elevation coverage, planned against sun position for the shoot date
- Perspective corrected in camera with a tilt shift lens, so verticals are true
- Dusk frames where the lighting design is part of the story
- Distracting temporary items removed, structure never altered
02 Interiors
Residential and hospitality.
Rooms are photographed to look like themselves on their best day. We style lightly, move what needs moving, and put it back exactly as we found it before we leave. Where a space has no good daylight we light it to match the character it would have had.
- Light styling included, full set dressing quoted separately if you want it
- Rooms shot at the hour their daylight is best, which sets the running order
- Detail frames of joinery, hardware and material junctions
- Furniture and finishes credited in the delivered captions where you supply them
03 Awards and editorial
Built to the entry form.
Awards juries and magazine picture desks both reject work on technicalities. Send us the submission spec or the publication's requirements and the delivered set will already match it, down to the crop ratios, the color profile and the caption format.
- Files prepared to a named submission or publication specification
- Crops supplied for the ratios the entry form actually asks for
- Captions written to the required format and supplied as a text file
- Delivered as one organized folder, not a link that expires in a week
What it costs
Priced by the day, not by the image.
$1,150
Up to four hours on site and twelve finished images. Suits a single interior, a house, or one elevation of a larger building.
$1,950
Up to eight hours and twenty five finished images, split across two visits where the light requires it. This is what most completed projects need.
$85 each
Extra finished images beyond the included count, chosen by you from the full take after the shoot. There is no minimum.
Included in both rates
| Licensing | Three years, covering your marketing, website, print and awards entries, and the right to pass images to everyone on the project team. Extensions quoted on request. |
|---|---|
| Retouching | Perspective correction, color and exposure balancing, and removal of temporary clutter. Structure, finishes and proportions are never altered. |
| Delivery | Full resolution and web sized files in one folder, named by room or elevation. Sent within ten working days, or five if the deadline needs it. |
| Travel | Included inside sixty miles of Portland. Beyond that, mileage at cost and nothing added on top. |
| Reshoots | If weather makes the shoot impossible we reschedule at no charge, however late the call is made. |
How a booking runs
Four steps, and you are only on site for one.
- One. You send the address, the finish date and what the images are for.
- Two. We check sun position against the building and propose the hours, the shot list and a fixed price.
- Three. We photograph. You are welcome on site and equally welcome not to be.
- Four. The folder arrives within ten working days, ready to use.
Next step
Get a fixed price this week.
Quotes are free, specific to your building, and come with the hours we would recommend and the reason for them.
