Copperline has been mowing in the upstate since 2017. Small enough that you get the same crew every week, big enough that a broken mower does not cancel your Thursday.

I started with a push mower, a truck with a bad clutch and eleven yards in Taylors. Nine years later it is two crews and a route that fills by March, which is flattering and also the reason we stopped advertising.
What I learned early is that most people are not unhappy with a lawn service because of the cut. They are unhappy because nobody told them the crew was not coming, or the bill had a number on it they did not expect, or the person who quoted the job was never seen again. Almost everything about how we run is an answer to one of those three.

From the first message to the first cut
Usually about a week, and faster outside March and April when everybody remembers their lawn at once.

You send the address
We pull the lot from the county record and the aerial, work out the mowed area, and price it. No visit needed and nobody sits in your kitchen.
- Day one or two
You get a real number
Per visit, by program, with the day of the week you would be on. If the lawn needs a reclaim cut first, that is quoted now rather than discovered later.
- Within a week
First visit
We walk it once before starting, note the sprinkler heads, the soft spot and the gate, then get on with it. You get a text when we are done.
- Every month
One invoice
For the visits that happened. Card, check or bank transfer. Nothing auto renews and there is no contract to get out of.
When we are the wrong call
If you want a perfect lawn, we are probably not enough on our own. A showpiece fescue lawn in this climate needs irrigation, soil testing and somebody watching it closely. We will get you a lawn that looks good from the street and stays healthy, which is what almost everybody actually wants.
If you need us this week in April, call anyway but expect a wait. The route fills in early spring. We would rather tell you two weeks than promise Thursday and not turn up.
If price is the only thing that matters, somebody is always cheaper. There is a floor below which a crew is not insured, not licensed to spray, and not still here next year. We are not trying to compete underneath it.
