Mowed area, not lot size. If half an acre of your acre is woods, creek or pasture we do not touch, you are quoted on the half we mow. Say so when you ask and we will look at the aerial rather than the deed.

Billing

Monthly, for what happened

  • Invoiced at the end of each monthFour visits in a month is four visits on the bill. Five weeks means five.
  • No contract and no cancellation feeA week's notice is all we ask, so the route can be filled.
  • Skip a week whenever you wantText by the night before. Skipped weeks are not billed, though two in a row in May means a longer cut on the third.
  • Winter drops to every other weekDecember to February most lawns here need cutting about half as often, and the bill halves with it.

Questions

Asked before most people sign up

Do I have to be home?

No, and most of our customers are at work when we come. We need the gate unlocked or a code, and somewhere to park a trailer that is not blocking a neighbor's drive. You get a text when we finish.

What happens when it rains on my day?

We push you to the next dry day, usually Friday, which is left open in the route for exactly this. If a week gets washed out entirely you are not billed for it. We will not cut a soaked lawn to make the schedule work, because it tears the turf and leaves ruts that take months to grow out.

Can I start in the middle of the season?

Yes. The one thing worth knowing is that a lawn that has gone six weeks without a cut needs a reclaim visit first, quoted separately and usually one and a half to two times a normal visit. After that you are on the regular price.

Do you bag the clippings?

Not by default, because returning clippings puts nitrogen back into the soil and is genuinely better for the lawn. We bag when the grass is too long to mulch cleanly, when a fungus is running through it, or when you ask. Bagging on request adds $10 a visit for hauling.

Is the weed control safe around pets and children?

Everything we use is a licensed product applied at label rate, and label rate is the part that matters. Stay off the treated area until it dries, about two hours on a normal day. We leave a note on the door on any day we have treated so nobody has to guess.

Can I have the feeding without the mowing?

We can, but it works out worse for you. Feeding a lawn that is being cut wrong by somebody else means paying us to fix a problem being recreated every week. If you already have a mowing service you are happy with, ask them to raise the deck before you spend money on fertilizer.
